Its taken forever but I finally finished another commission. The weather has been awful here, raining every afternoon, so since I’ve gone back to work my time to work on commissions has been cut short and the rain doesn’t help. I just finished two more Fairyland heads, a pukifee hamster and a multihead cupid.

I finally finished opening the eyes of my chloe ve head. Its not something I’m in any hurry to repeat, way too much work. I finished her faceup and while I wanted to make her look dark and a little dead its not exactly what happened. I did do quite a bit of blue grey blushing and a bit of yellow, I also blushed her chest piece, hands, and feet. However when I sat down to do her features she just turned out with a sweet and maybe a little sad expression. I’m really happy with her, now she just needs her clothes. I ordered a corset from Raouken on Den of Angels and it should be in next week and then I can finish her skirt. I don’t know when her wig will be in yet. The picture is not the best, it was late in the day and I had to turn on all the lights and open the window to get enough light.

I just ordered two sets of Moo mini cards, one for my customization business and one for back to school to hand out to parents and students. I love their little cards and I have a growing collection of ones from individuals I’ve bought from. I love that you can just import photos from Flickr, makes it so easy. I was even able to add a qr code to my back to school ones since my goal is to get more students and parents visiting our classroom blog.
In case you don’t know what a qr code is:
I use google’s url shortner to make mine. Use it to shorten a url then press details and it gives you the picture.

I’ve been busy this summer. It seems that as soon as I finish the work on one doll another one arrives.
Here is the Soom Beyla with fantasy parts I did. This was the first time I have been commissioned to do the fantasy parts. They take a lot of time and use up a lot of my MSC.
And I just finished this minifee chloe. I’m so happy with how she turned out.

Home from Michael’s. I needed brush cleaner but they didn’t have any small bottles. Good thing I had a coupon. 32 oz should last me a while.

I got all the Fairyland girls out for pictures the other day. Běla got a new outfit. I originally made it for one of the Soom teenie gems I have but it fits the littlefee better. I just lucked out that I happened to have socks that matched.
Here are some of my favorites:

I just finished another commission. This one was based on one of her owner’s characters and it is the second fantasy type faceups I’ve done recently.
I’m thinking of adding a fantasy faceup category to my commission thread. I’ve also upped my prices to $30 for a faceup. I think that’s still a very modest price and I may up it again soon especially if I stay this busy.

I just purchased a Sekonic Twinmate L-208 light meter off ebay.
Its to go with my Zorki 4 camera that I bought, I’ll post pics of that when it finally arrives. The zorki is a completely manual camera so I was going to need a light meter. I had no idea they could be so expensive, that’s why I turned to ebay. I’m not a professional, I’m just having fun.
I did a few experiments using my nikon D70 and the light meter.
This first picture was taken using the in camera meter (ISO 200, 1/50 shutter speed, f8).
This second picture I took in manual mode using the reading off the light meter (ISO 200, shutter speed 1/50, f5).
Now I know the meters work differently, the in camera one reading reflected light and the hand held one reading incident light. I’ve also read that digital cameras typically underexpose but I didn’t think the difference would be that much. I think for all my doll pics I’m going to be using the little light meter.

I finished this girl today. I’ve been waiting for the end of the school year so I’d have time to work. I’m so happy with how she turned out! The flames tattoo was done with watercolor pencils with some acrylic accents, the pencils worked well.
My schedule for the summer is going to be: wake up at 6:30 and go for a walk with the dog (6:30 is the only acceptable time to walk in the Florida summer), shower, breakfast, work on commissions. If I can keep that up I should be able to get quite a bit of work done.
